On 14 March 2008
the Principality of Monaco celebrated its Sovereign
Prince's 50th birthday, so a collective of
Monegasque non-profit organisations along with the
Grimaldi Forum decided to mark the event by paying
tribute to Prince Albert II's humanitarian
commitment through an exhibition of photographs
chronicling the principle humanitarian aid projects
that Monaco as a country has undertaken. Visitors
to the exhibition can appreciate photographic works
of diverse origins, illustrating Monaco's
humanitarian activities throughout the world, in
more than 48 countries.
These photographs come from a variety of sources,
some belonging to the archive collections of
humanitarian organisations based in Monaco and in
the principle fields of action, others commissioned
from leading international reporters working in
countries where the Principality has been
particularly active.
